"I Don't Believe That I Am A Sinner"Many people reject the idea that they should be considered a “sinner”. Do you? Well, the Bible makes the answer to this question plain by saying, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 kjv) So, God’s word says that you and I and all other human beings are “sinners”. Why is this?
Breaking The Law I. No other gods II. No idols III. No blasphemy IV. Day of Rest V. Obey Parents VI. Do Not Murder VII. Do Not Commit Adultery VIII. Do Not Steal IX. Do Not Lie X. Do Not Covet
Have you ever told a lie? Even a small lie? That makes you a liar. This means you are a sinner. How about stealing? Even something of little value? Cheated on a test or on TAXES? That would make you a thief! You’re a sinner. Have you ever hated or lusted sexually after someone you are not married to? Jesus said that you would be a murderer in your heart and an adulterer in your heart. (Matthew 5:28) That means you are a sinner in the eyes of God.
Don’t Play Word Games With God This means that Romans 3:23 is true. You and I and all who ever lived, except One, are sinners. Who is the One who is not a sinner? Jesus Christ.
The Sinless Died For Sin However, when He died on the Cross He took all of my sin and all of your sin and the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2 kjv) In other words, God, “made him to be sin for us.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 kjv) So the One who never sinned was the only One who could pay for sin. So He became sin for us on that Cross and died. In so doing, He basically killed the effects of sin! Why did He do this? John 3:16 says that it was because God loved us that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sin. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” It’s all about love. He was then laid in a tomb. His body was dead. But three days later, He arose. And He lives today! Will you trust in what Jesus has done for you? If you will, Jesus will raise your body from the grave and you will live forever!
