Mart DeHaan (Our Daily Bread) Junks Infallibility of Scripture

Our Daily What?

M.R. DeHaan was a wonderful Bible teacher who founded Radio Bible Class and such ministries as the Our Daily Bread devotionals. His grandson is walking the typical path to apostasy (see Solomon walking away from David's ways and Reheboam walking into total apostasy in 1 Kings 1-12). After abandoning the King James Bible and compromising on many issues, Mart DeHaan has now written a book titled, "Been Thinking About" and appears to be taking tha neo-orthodox view of Scripture.

In it he says that when he studied Messianic prophecies he, "found obscure or mysterious statements, written in the past tense, and referring historically to someone other than a future Messiah." What Mart seems not to know is that prophecy has a direct application as well as a distant application. Isaiah 14 is an example as it condemns the King of Tyre and Lucifer in the same breath.

Mart makes another blunder in reference to Matthew's connection of Hosea 11:1 which says, "and called my son out of Egypt,..." to Matthew 2:15 where it is mentioned as a prophecy of the flight of Joseph, Mary and Jesus into Egypt and the subsequent calling "out of Egypt" and back into the Holy Land. Mart says that Hosea, "in context, was looking back to the birth of the nation Israel rather than forward to the birth of a personal Messiah."

No, Mart. This passage is what I call, "ROPE." God gives every doubter just enough rope to hang themselves with (see Judas hang in Matthew 27:5). Look closely, Mart. Hosea switched the subject in ONE BREATH from Israel to God's SON.

Matthew got it right. DeHaan sank with his "NEW" King James Bible in hand.

He adds that Matthew, "repeatedly claimed fulfillments where most of us would probably agree there are no clear predictions."

You know who else talks like that? The Atheists who put out, "The God Who Wasn't There." www.thegodmovie.com

Stay tuned for deeper and more greivous apostasy from "Radio Bible Class", Day of Discovery" and all the Alexandrian, neo-evangelical ministries of that outfit. Unless they repent and get back to the King James Bible...
